The Tiesto personality-splitting NYE mystery solved by none other than me

Unbelievable, I feel like Sherlock Holmes cause I actually managed to solve the Tiesto NYE mystery before it was disclosed to the public. In a comment to my own post (yes, I know, it’s pathetic) I suggested that Tiesto is actually going to play at both Avalon in Boston and Resolution at the Bell Center in Montreal during the same, one and only new years eve night. Well, judging from Tiesto’s official site, seems like that is indeed going to be the case. The man is going to play in Boston from 11:00 to 2:00; then he’s going to cross the border, I guess by plane, hopefully the border guards won’t give him too much trouble, and at 5AM he’s scheduled to hit the stage at the Bell Center, where he’ll keep on going like this until 9AM. That’s a 10 hour working shift, including a 3 hour cross country trip. I’ve heard of traveling for work, but I’ve never heard of traveling during the lunch break and finishing your shift in another country. That Tiesto guy is hardcore; I knew he’ll try to pull some crazy stunt like this. It just sucks that he won’t be in Montreal when the clock strikes midnight. But at least we’re getting him for one hour more than the Americans.

Now, if Tiesto was really hard core, he’d start his work day in another time zone, maybe Australia, play a NYE set there, then hop on a supersonic jet and travel to North America where it is not the new years yet, and play again.

Then he’ll be able to sleep on a big pile of comfy money for at least three straight days.

I’m going to keep checking back but I hope to hear some news about smaller parties and cool bars to hang at for NYE too… also some cool music would be nice, I’m not a fan of techno/house/electronic crap. haha. It’s going to be my first New Year in Montreal and I want it to be good and I NEED YOUR HELP! = )

Katie & Katie2, that’s why I am here. Personally, I won’t be going to see Tiesto or the huge parties of the likes either. If I want to party with 20 000 people in a big stadium, I’ll go see Guns’N’Roses in Quebec City. No, for New Years I want to get drunk in peace in a small place, with my close friends near-by, taking care of me.

Well, I won’t have close friends with me, just my boyfriend, but we’re definitely looking for a scene with a low key vibe, probably more locals than tourists, but fun. He came up for new year 2000 and by luck ended up in a bar which he and his group of friends took over. this year we won’t have the huge group, so I’m worried he’ll be disappointed. Where will you be hanging out? If your dishing inside info, I’d think that’d be it. = )

Just your boyfriend, that’s a pretty close friend, if not the closest ;)

I myself don’t know yet where we’ll be for NYE. It’s usually decided last minute, a few days before, with some probable extra last minute change of plan. I’ll definitely keep you posted on what will be going on.

Your comment is actually inspiring me a lot: you’re raising a hell of a question, about living up to expectations of a past event. NYE 2000, that’s 7 years ago, a lot of things change in that amount of time.

Well, i’ll give you some more inspiration :) i’m coming with some friends from Toronto and want to make sure we have a good time. Not necessarily looking for a party with 20000 people… even if you could recommend a few good places to hang out at..that would be great as well :)
thanks !

[...] This idea was planted from Katie’s comment on her fears about the upcoming NYE: “[my boyfriend] came up for new year 2000 and by luck ended up in a bar which he and his group of friends took over. this year we won’t have the huge group, so I’m worried he’ll be disappointed”. [...]
